See my previous post.
I have always wondered, why this unflinching support for the ex-convict, Anwar Ibrahim.
Who actually is John Raymond Malott?
We all know he was the Ambassador, under the Clinton administration from 1995-1998.
Career diplomat now managing director for lobbyist consultancy firm ManattJones Global Strategies, LLC. His resume here is impressive.
His family from Senate records:
1. Spouse: Hiroko Malott
2. Children: David Malott, Rumi Malott
3. Parents: Raymond Malott, Marian Malott
4. Brothers and Spouses: Merle Barber and Linda Barber (stepbrother). Tom and Marsha Barber. Donald Malott.
5. Sisters and Spouses: Ruth Ann and William Henline. Kathryn and Maury Wulbrecht. Mary Jane and Harold McQueen. Margaret and Gordon Reuben.
He is also Ambassador-at-Large for The World Affairs Council of Orange County
That's Orange County, California -- a thriving international economic and cultural center -- and the home of the World Affairs Council of Orange County. Orange County is going global!Orange County in California.
Elections since 1992 in California have all voted Democrats.
But Orange County is a Republican stronghold!
It drew me to William Cohen, Defense Secretary a Republican, in a Democratic Clinton administration.
See how the Anwarista strenuously defends the ex-con and William Cohen (Malaysiakini link inaccessible), "Anwar was never an American spy", receiving the then Deputy Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim.
When high-ranking foreign visitors come to visit the Defence Minister, they are given military honours. When US Secretary of Defense Bill Cohen visited then-Defence Minister Syed Hamid in 1998, he was given full military honours. Does this make Bill Cohen a "Malaysian spy"?
When Anwar visited the Pentagon on April 16, 1998, he came as deputy prime minister, and was accorded "a full honours arrival". There was nothing unusual about this, a point that the US Defense Department's Protocol Office has confirmed.
And who is William Cohen? Stuart Wilde discloses the usual suspects with some familiar Anwar acquaintances,
Watch now for the American media to roll out William W. Cohen, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, Elliot Abrams, and the usual gang of merry-makers. Feith told the Jerusalem Post that the attack on Iran could not be ruled out. Meaning, I suppose, it is definitely ruled in. I’m sure that went down well with readers in Jerusalem. The only reason for America to attack Iran is to help Israel.Coming back to Orange County and Ed Royce
This is Ed Royce,
"U.S. Representative Ed Royce (R) is serving his tenth term in Congress representing Southern California's 40th District, based in Orange County. He and his wife, Marie, are longtime residents of Fullerton, CA."Ed Royce votes on Iraq and War on Terror.
Ed Royce Voted YES on declaring Iraq part of War on Terror with no exit date. (Jun 2006) Voted YES on approving removal of Saddam & valiant service of US troops. (Mar 2004)Voted YES on authorizing military force in Iraq. (Oct 2002).Ed Royce is also a member of the Tea Party Caucus.
The Americans Against The Tea Party in an article writes how the "Neocons Fume Over US Boat to Gaza"
And the dark side of Ed Royce, "Republican congressmen join Islamophobic hate rally in California."
"Congressman Ed Royce (R-40), in a troubling trend of disparaging Islam and its followers, added fuel to the fire by encouraging protesters to continue on with their hate-mongering."
Rather strange when one considers this media release by The Human Rights Foundation of the Oslo Forum,
"The event is hosted by Senator Sam Brownback and is cosponsored by members of Congress including Senator Barbara Boxer and Representatives Frank Wolf, Chris Smith, Joseph Cao, Gerald Connolly, Ed Royce, Dana Rohrabacher, James Moran, Zoe Lofgren, and Loretta Sanchez."
But none too strange when again the usual suspects keep turning up,
"Anderson and HRF's Sarah Wasserman will be joined at the ceremony and the subsequent “Internet Freedom in Asia” seminar by senior representatives of the AFL-CIO, the America Asia Initiative, Amnesty International USA, Freedom Now, Hope Radio Network, Human Rights Watch, Initiative for China, the National Endowment for Democracy, and Radio Free Asia."
Yes, that NED again.
NED and the CIA by Philip Agee.
The Human Rights Foundation has it's credibility gap.*
"The Human Rights Foundation (HRF), the organization that produces the Oslo Freedom Forum, has been described by the Cuban state media as a CIA front, labeled "imperialist" by the Ecuadorean president, and declared "enemies of the state" by the Venezuelan propaganda machine. Rather than addressing criticism head-on, the method is to shoot the messenger."Wait, wait. There's another usual suspect,
"It has included the participation of human rights heroes such as Vaclav Havel, Lubna al-Hussein, Anwar Ibrahim, Rebiya Kadeer, Greg Mortenson, Armando Valladares, Lech Walesa, Elie Wiesel, Lidia Yusupova, Harry Wu, and Leyla Zana."
Some may or may not recall Ed Royce not unlike the meddler support for Anwar in Sodomy I,
Membantah sekeras-kerasnya campurtangan sekumpulan tujuh (7) orang ahli kongres Amerika Syarikat – Chris Smith (New Jersey), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Florida), Robert Wexler (Florida), Tom Lantos (California), Dana Rohrabacher (California), Ed Royce (California) dan Niel Abercrombie (Hawaii) yang menfailkan satu resolusi pada 21 Oktober 2000 di Dewan Perwakilan Amerika Syarikat untuk mendesak supaya Kerajaan Malaysia menggugurkan semua tuduhan terhadap Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim atau mengadakan perbicaraan baru"
You would be asking by now what has all this to do with the meddler, Malott?
Well, as the Americans like to say, I followed the money trail...
This is what I uncovered, California (CA) Political Contributions by Individuals,
"Mr. John R. Malott (World Affairs Council/CEO), (Zip code: 92677) $250 to ED ROYCE FOR CONGRESS on 06/27/01"
By the way, if you are wondering why is it the WSJ bothers to carry the meddler's diatribes, well maybe it's because the WSJ shares somebody both Malott and the WSJ support.
I followed the money trail again.
You guessed it, to head Financial Services Commiittee, the WSJ endorsed(link problem, it's also here) Ed Royce,
"We think the best choice to run Financial Services is California Republican Ed Royce, who was right all along about Fannie and Freddie."Lastly, Mr Malott meddler extraordinaire, can you please explain to all Malaysians, whom you care so much about, why you support Ed Royce, an American Congressman shown to be anti-Islamic and a war monger?
