Anwar Ibrahim and the matter of Hudud

I will bet my last ringgit and say, almost all if not everyone will consider Datuk Seri Anwar, to the shock and awe of everyone, coming out to say that he supported implementing Hudud law in Kelantan, is puzzling at the least.

I have to admit that Tun Mahathir had broached the issue first but it was directed at Tok Guru Nik Aziz.

By not minding his own business, Anwar had got his senior partner in the Pakatan, the DAP's all up in arms.

Who could blame them.

Anwar is the bridge to that great divide between the two older partners, ideology.

Christian led DAP is secular, Muslim led PAS is religious.

Lim Kit Siang, Guan Eng and Co will take this to mean Anwar has openly thrown his lot with PAS.

Not only has Anwar taken a position going against the grain of the secularist party, the bridge will be seen by everyone in or out of the Pakatan, to have collapsed.

Any conclusion you draw will not fit the puzzle. It defies logic. Nobody gains.

I offer this.

DAP wins "big" in Sarawak State Elections 2011. Issue? No need to mention.

Malaysia establishes ties with the Holy See.

Bye bye Sabah. Bye bye Sarawak. Bye bye Putrajaya. Bye bye Prime Minister designate.

Hello Penang. Hello Kedah. Hello Kelantan.

Clue:

Penang State assembly - 21 Simple majority
PKR State assemblymen - Tan Hock Leong, Ong Chin Wen, Law Choo Kiang, Ong Khan Lee, V.S. Raveenthran, Sim Tze Tzin 6. DAP 19.

Establish Parliament Select committee and abolish ISA. We'll meet in Selangor and see you in Perak.

Cannot be PM, where would Anwar rather be?

To be continued.
