Anwar Ibrahim's Support for the PROTECTION of the Security of the STATE OF ISRAEL

My previous post "Anwar Ibrahim and The Malaysian Insider - Two-Faced and Double-Talking" ends with an update of yet another clarification by Brother Anwar Bin Ibrahim, Kenyataan Media Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim Berkenaan Isu Palestin – Israel.

To summarise events leading up to the above Media Statement by the Brother, it began with the Wall Street Journal's "Malaysia's Anwar Presses On Despite Appeal", a postscript to Sodomy II and the subsequent appeal by the Attorney General of the acquittal decision.

As you would expect from the Anwar loving news agency or any other news agency promoting the Anwar agenda, any article would not be complete without an Anwar propaganda.

So it was that an answer to an unspecified question resulted in the furore it generated in Malaysia and resonated around the Muslim world, the now infamous Anwar statement,

"I support all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel"

The firestorm of criticism it created in our local media, both main stream and alternative, is already well documented.

What is relevant, for this post today, is that it ran counter to an avowed and politically sensitive policy of Anwar's Ibrahim's partner in the opposition coalition, the Islamic party, PAS.

An inviolable and non negotiable policy by which if unaddressed, the statement would have serious consequences to PAS grass root support and legitimacy of Anwar's party, the PKR, as a true and reliable coalition partner in the opposition pact.

This policy is comprehensively expressed in a strongly worded statement, "Dewan Ulamak PAS Menyokong Penuh Kenyataan Mursyidul Am" by the Islamic party,  demanding Brother Anwar to withdraw his statement, taboo to the PAS faithful, or sue the Wall Street Journal if it had misreported the Brother.

Not only was it demanded that Anwar withdraw the statement,  PAS spiritual leader Tok Guru Nik Aziz insists Anwar withdraws the statement publicly, meaning published and reported at the same media it was first revealed, the Wall Street Journal.

It culminated in the latest media statement by Anwar that is the subject of this post.

What can be read is Anwar explicitly states the following -

The now infamous statement must be read together with a two-state polity solution, an independent Palestinian state and the Israeli state, which he endorses. Subject, of course, to what was initially reported by the WSJ, ie  "contingent on Israel respecting the aspirations of Palestinians" and extensively elaborated in the Brother's media statement.

Supposedly, therein is where Brother Anwar's truth lies.

The complete paragraph as reported by the Wall Street Journal,

"I support all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel," said Mr. Anwar, although he stopped short of saying he would open diplomatic ties with the Jewish state, a step which he said remains contingent on Israel respecting the aspirations of Palestinians. Malaysia has consistently refrained from establishing diplomatic relations with Israel, although limited commercial ties exist between private companies in the two countries.
 1. It is only after the statement was reported by WSJ that Anwar now says that it must be read together with a two-state solution which he endorses.

2. If that were the case, Anwar is in agreement to a two-state solution id est, there should be no reason why Anwar should have "stopped short of saying he would open diplomatic ties with the Jewish state".

3. While "security" is dealt with at length albeit undefined, Anwar expressed as reported, "efforts to protect the security".

For all his eloquent bluster, the correct response for whatever the question, would have been - "I support all efforts for the security of Israel contingent to..."

Meaning consultation and dialog to end of all aggression and the establishment  of a Palestinian state.

"PROTECT the security of the State of Israel" is an explicit word to mean an action and that includes military protection.

4. The killer, " I support all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel"

If you don't see it, let me elucidate.

If Anwar does not recognise the the state of Israel having "stopped short of saying he would open diplomatic ties with the Jewish state" until all "the aspirations of Palestinians" as eloquently elaborated are achieved, how can Anwar "support all efforts to protect the security" of the state of Israel which according to Anwar Ibrahim does not exist?

Tok Guru Nik Aziz has seen through the two-facedness of the Brother, If Tok Guru does not see through the meaning of the Anwar Ibrahim's statement, I will say it for Tok Guru when he meets the Brother today.

Brother Anwar bin Ibrahim's statement,

"I support all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel"

means exactly what it means, period.

Yeah. Keep prevaricating DSAI. That's how you win your debates. By backtracking and lying and erroneous assumptions.
